# Jason kottke

Jason wants to do blogging full time! Here is what he has to say about this whole “blogging thing”,

Looking back on it all, this little hobby of mine has been the most rewarding, pleasurable, maddening, challenging thing in my life. I've met so many nice, good people, formed valued relationships with some of them, traveled to distant lands (and New Jersey), procured jobs & other business opportunities, discovered new interests, music, movies & books, and lots of other stuff, all for putting a little bit of me out there for people to see.

The afternoon sun bounced gently off her dress, lighting her face in a delicate shade of pink. Her fingers valiantly fought with the wayward breeze trying to re-arrange her hair. Light was dancing merrily on the edges of her diamond earring.

Time waited while they talked that day.

The unblinking eye staring at you.Since the crocodile was on the other side of the cage, I couldn't avoid the wire mesh coming in the way .. The white haze you see on the right is actually the wire mesh. Topics : eye, crocodile, trivandrum, zoo, kerala, india

Deeply disappointed with this shot. Couldn't get the focus right :-(

I somehow like this one a lot .. Must be the contrast between the white feathers and the dust ..

# War is never an answer

I haven't read a more eloquently written argument against war,
“We shall never end war by blaming it on ministers and generals or war-mongering imperialists…It’s the rest of us who build statues to those generals or name boulevards after those ministers…the rest of us who make heroes of our dead and shrines of our battlefields…” (Paddy Chayefsky, The Americanization of Emily)

Yes, some wars are necessary. Vietnam was not; neither is Iraq. But even a necessary war should be entered into as a last resort; it should be waged with the understanding that war itself is a failure of reason; and it should be concluded - even in victory - as a solemn occasion.

Forget the honors. Forget the glory.

A soldier’s medals are merely seeds for the next conflict.

# Staying Alive

I am still very much alive. These days, time is mostly spent in excel sheets and microsoft project documents :(

Took a few photographs during my trip to trivandrum. One of my personal favourites,

Sunset at Shangumugham, Trivandrum

A few more can be seen at my flickr page.

Comments have been disabled because I got tired of fighting comment spammers. They seem to get around blacklists, captchas and what not. Trackbacks are still available. Waiting for my first trackback spam...
